Its the middle of summer and time to hit the beach! The problem is, where to find that perfect bathing suit. My Salemail has provided me with a plethora of bathing suits with different styles made for a variety of body types.
As noted by our friends at Cupcakes and Cashmere, Diane Von Furstenburg has taken to designing swimwear that will slim you down and make you look your absolute best!
For less of a splurge, you can try this Juicy Couture ‘Lace Triangle Bra Top’ bikini. Both the top and bottom have ties which allow for custom adjustment, ensuring that perfect fit.
The one piece works well on almost all body types. Milly and Shoshanna managed to perfect it with the ‘Marabella Maillot’ and the ‘Chain Halter One Piece’

In our last newsletter, we announced a contest to give away $250 to Bluefly. We’re announcing a winner…Roni J. from Hanover, MA!
Here’s what Roni had to say about her experience using Shop It To Me:
“Professionally, I’m an advertising media consultant working out of my home office, and prefer to do almost all my shopping online. Beyond the superb savings over retail price, there’s also the time-saving and gas-saving benefit…and the joy of having my purchases delivered to my door like a gift. Prior to learning about Shopittome.com in the Wall Street Journal a couple of months ago, I was already a veteran shopper on Bluefly, SmartBargains, Zappos, 6pm.com, endless.com, and Amazon. What’s unique about Shopittome.com is the personal profile feature, which allows me to create my own shopping bot. It’s like having a personal shopper who knows my size and label preferences, such as Dana Buchman, Ellen Tracy, Diane von Furstenberg, Nicole Miller, Cole Haan, DKNY, Donald J Pliner - just to name a few. It saves so much time and frustration compared to some of the other sites, where an item I’d like is often available only in size 2.”

Roni went on to share more about her recent purchases, and how her friends are also now enjoying Shop It To Me:
“My professional skills spill over into my personal shopping habits, as I’m a compulsive advice-giver with my friends and business associates, several of whom joined Shopittome.com on my recommendation. In the past few weeks I’ve purchased two elegant silk blouses - a Nicole Miller and a BCBG Max Azria - and two dresses - a DKNY and a Diane von Furstenberg - all at 40% off or better, since I’ve set my minimum discount level at 40%. I’ve also gone so far as to open charge accounts with Nordstrom and Bloomingdales, to earn further discounts and free shipping on first-time purchases.”
Congratulations, Roni — we hope you find something fabulous to buy at Bluefly!

I happen to be one of those people who adore food. I also adore fashion, and occasionally these two interests combine into quirky thoughts — like this post. Inspired by P. Kim at All That & A and Emily at Cupcakes and Cashmere, here are my Salemail picks that remind me of my favorite summer foods.
Can’t you just see this dress as the fabric interpretation of the push-up pop? Unfortunately, ice cream trucks don’t go driving down the street selling dresses, but if they did, this structured but still whimsical piece would make hot days much more bearable.
And here we have the sartorial equivalent of bruschetta. With the stylized punch of garlic and olives, but the simple elegance of tomato red, this DVF dress helps you look stunning without the effort - just like the dish itself.
And finally, a perennial picnic table favorite: watermelon. Strapless but still no fuss, this summer dress does watermelon one better - not only does is it completely seedless, but it also has pockets!
Happy shopping (and snacking!)

Hi readers! My name is Maddie and, like Hilary and Lauren, I’m interning at Shop It To Me this summer. I’m having a blast here and would love to hear more from you about your favorite Shop It To Me brands and steals!
In the meantime, I’ve been thinking about what to wear while traveling. It’s been on my mind not only because of Hilary’s trip to Paris (lucky her!), but also because deciding what to wear on a long flight can sometimes feel like an exercise in contradictions. The airplane cabin temperature tends to verge on freezing, but once you land, it’s perfectly sunny. I’ve found that searching through your Salemail can yield a few select pieces (on sale of course) that can make your flight and arrival more comfortable and glamorous.
One of my flying staples is a light scarf. Long enough to wrap around your neck as a makeshift pillow but not heavy enough to bring winter flashbacks, a silk, linen, or cotton scarf can give you extra warmth without the weight.
I also opt for a comfy, but still chic pair of flats. The right pair of flats can save you from slipping out of your flip-flops onto airplane carpet and also from spending extra time retying your sneakers post-security check.
With the accessories covered, a thin, soft tee and an easy, thrown on sweater fit the layering ticket perfectly. Add your favorite pair of jeans (with a bit of stretch for comfort’s sake) and you’re ready to hand over your boarding pass!

Just learned of this cool site Wordle.net. Originally heard of it from Amanda at Social Honeycomb, and just had to check it out. Basically, it allows you to create a word cloud that either pulls from a group of words you type in manually, or a URL you specify. It’s great fun and endless entertainment to play with editing the fonts and color schemes of the cloud(s) you generate.
Check out this cloud it generated based on this Shop It To Me blog. Really sums up some of our recent posts: Fashion, girl, dress, friends, thoughts, readers, …even MARC made it in there!

Summer reading…time to curl up with an entertaining book on the beach! I’ve recently come across 3 fashion-related reads to share:
Spork Fashion originally turned me on to Fashion 101-A Crash Course In Clothing. Each page highlights a different piece of clothing and details “What it looks like”, “Who made it”, “Who made it hot”, and “How to rock it”. From tube tops to ballerina flats, I am learning the history of a head-to-toe wardrobe! It’s incredibly entertaining and and nicely laid out; a quick, pleasure-filled, and educational read. And for only $12, I think it’s quite a steal!
Fabsugar tipped me off about Vogue Covers. According to Fab, “This book boasts over 200 pages of Vogue’s most influential and iconic covers that span over almost 100 years.” Don’t know that this quite qualifies as beach-reading, but a definite coffee-table addition. And who doesn’t love seeing the evolution of fashion through photographs?!
When browsing at the book store this week, I came across Daily Candy Lexicon, from the Daily Candy staff. It’s a “compilation of soon to be discovered words” that will urge on laughter and appreciation of this witty humor. To give you a taste, within the Shopping chapter you’ll find “Fabric-ation: the involuntary impulse to lie when the salesgirl asks you what size you are,” and “Mouse Trap: An internet purchase that looks a lot different upon arrival than it did in the picture.” Hopefully I won’t fall for any mousetraps soon!

I joke with friends and say “I’m in the wedding of the month club”. But I’m not kidding - I’m 100% serious when I say that I have 7 weddings to attend throughout the course of the summer. And I’m sure I’m not the only one!
Although fun, weddings do create some challenges. In addition to the $$$ required to travel, hotels, rental cars, gifts (OK you get the idea - and since they are great friends I won’t complain too much), my bigger issue is what to wear!!!
Each event requires not just one outfit, but typically one for a rehearsal dinner, sometimes a brunch event following the wedding, and often a bridal shower or bachelorette party extravaganza preceding the nuptials.
What I’ve learned:
- Choose items that travel well. It’s the worst when you arrive at a hotel, are squeezed for time, and are trying to iron something that you’re afraid you’re going to ruin with a hotel iron that may not work as you expect. The less wrinkles something holds, the better.
- One dress can go a long way, and you can re-wear…just choose different friend circles so you’re not in the same dress over and over and over again with the same people. Of course, this doesn’t solve the problem of seeing pictures of yourself in the same black dress a gazillion times…but if you pick something you love, who cares?! It’s pretty comical actually when you can’t remember which wedding you were at in any given photo.
- Borrow! Friends are great resources, and it’s terrific to be able to borrow dresses from one another. As long as they’ve worn it a few times first so you don’t ruin it with some red wine spillage before they have enjoyed the garment, you’re safe. And when spending a few hundred on a nice dress, it’s nice to be able to share the love.
A few great dresses I have found in recent Salemails that I thought could be dressed up or down for either the black-tie or the more casual events (I have a feeling these will be scooped up quickly though so you’ll need to act fast!):

Hi Readers! My name is Lauren and I will be interning alongside Hilary for the remainder of the summer! I will be posting frequently so make sure to keep an eye out! Also, I want to hear your opinion so don’t be shy!
Anyone a fan of the TV phenomenon Gossip Girl? The gossip isn’t the only thing that is leaving everyone in America glued to their TVs every Monday night. The clothing in this show has taken the fashion world by storm and caused every woman to turn green with envy. Never thought you were going to get your hands on these Gossip Girl exclusives? Well think again…
Did anyone else fall in love with Blaire’s dress at the Waldorf-Archibald celebratory dinner in “Victor, Victrola”?
Our fellow Gossip Girl lovers over at Gossip Girl Fashion shared this great photo:

And I was delighted to see the same dress in my Salemail:
It makes me wonder what other Gossip Girl fashion I will be seeing in my Salemail to come…

Hello Readers! My name is Hilary and I am an intern for the summer here at Shop It To Me. I will be writing posts periodically, and I look forward to sharing my thoughts with you and getting your thoughts in return!
I’m headed off to Paris for two weeks for some relaxation and retail therapy, and I can’t wait to see who’s wearing what over there. This summer, everyone in the U.S. is buzzing about the gladiator sandals, maxi dresses, and belts. It will be interesting to see what Parisians do with these trends!
Our friends over at the Style and the City (a Parisian Trendsetter!) are always posting pictures of the latest Parisian looks, and here are some of my favorites from their site (www.styleandthecity.com):

I’m expecting a lot of hats, boots, and leather. I guess these ‘basics’ are a little different from the American-style jeans and t-shirts, but they are a welcome change. What are your thoughts on must-have items for your closet? I can’t live without my scarves!
