So awards season is in full swing and that can only mean one thing, gowns, gowns and more gowns! I live for the full blown morning coffee talk discussion over the best and worst looks of the evening before where Hollywood royalty put on their best face (and outfit) to shine on the red carpet. With the Oscars upon us, the biggest night of Hollywood’s fashion year is finally here!!!

As a fashion stylist, it is hard not to create what I believe are the best looks for the rich and famous prior to the actual big event. Seeing as I diligently receive my Salemail every day from Shopittome.com, I have no choice but to browse possible Oscar looks! Doesn’t everyone do this? I came across a beautiful floor length indigo gown by Laundry this week and my mind went bonkers. Demi Moore or Kate Beckinsale would look perfect in this simple, understated yet completely sexy dress. For me, style on the red carpet is about standing out in a fabulously elegant and royal way. This dress by Laundry only exemplifies that.

This is not to say that bringing in bold and fun jewelry is not the punch they need to truly stand out in a sea of lovely ladies. I chose bronze pieces to funk up the classic elegance of this floor length gown. Calvin Klein’s metallic clutch was the perfect fit for this flowing dress.

It is the bit of hard edge that any classy lady needs to show she means business. Pairing it with this snake ring by Roberto Cavalli brings up the style quotient by ten fold.

Be sassy in your fashion choices and know that standing out on the red carpet doesn’t always mean choosing the most over the top option…. I am talking to you Bjork, a swan dress is never in!
