Men’s Spring Fashion Outlook
When we find great blog posts, we enjoy re-posting them. This one is from our Trendsetter Dennis Cahlo, editor of Made to Measure. When it comes to men’s fashion, he’s an expert on styling affordable pieces into sophisticated outfits that look like they cost a million bucks. Here are some great, breezy outfits to help you transition into the spring season — using clothing from retailers like H&M, Aldo, JC Penney and Old Navy!
Bright colors are definitely in this season, and we liked the way Dennis incorporated some saturated polo shirts and printed pocket squares to add some color without overwhelming the look. The color palette feels fresh and we love the texture of the charcoal heather pieces from H&M.
If you’re feeling inspired, you can add brands like Old Navy and Gap to your Salemail by logging in to your account and clicking Men’s Clothing – Brands and then “Show all brands”. Other affordable brands that offer that going-boating look are Aeropostale, Dockers, Fossil, Nautica and Steve Madden.

At first response to the colors shown for the men’s clothing for spring, Yuck! I would personally prefer a more traditional darker color suit on a man. It shows more class. The shirt and tie colors can be brighter and and can be more blending to the eye with a more traditional darker suit.
Thanks!
Your blog is so informative ? keep up the good work!!!!
Hello Annie and Ray Bans,
First off, thanks for the feedback.
Annie, I appreciate your very opinionated response but have to disagree with you on SO MANY LEVELS. If you read my blog you will see that darker suits are appropriate for the cooler seasons. A man should not be wearing a navy blue suit on a warm spring day at all. At night, though, it would be very appropriate. I am all for breaking the rules but darker on hot spring/summer days is just unreasonable!
Men should brighten their your suiting choices in the heat not only for a cooler more breezy feel.
As for my color choices, I like them very much and find them extremely appropriate for the warmer season.
As for showing more class, I think you should re-evalute that remark. I present every piece I do on my blog aimed at advising men on how to be a bit more classy and elegant rather than sloppy.
Thanks again!
Dennis Cahlo
Wow I have to say this is great. Even writing that post must have taken you a seriously long time. Thanks for your effort!
