Welcome Vivian to the Shop It To Me team! From baking a mean bread to predicting your future, she’s a gal of many talents. Here are a few tidbits and fashion facts about the newest member of our entourage:
This summer sandals are officially in, so ladies, it’s time to break out my favorite accessory… nail polish! Sometimes selecting a good nail polish brand can be a bit overwhelming because there are simply so many different options. These brands will last a little bit longer, and certainly make your nails sparkle in the summer sun!
Sinful Colors is carried in Walgreens drugstores and is ridiculously cheap, only $1.99! But don’t let the price fool you, this nail polish lasts much longer than any other low cost nail polish. Check out the “Felling Great” color shown above, it gives a great pink shade that’s not too over the top.
Sally Hansen Insta Dri, another Walgreens brand, has beautiful bold colors that are easy to apply for a smooth looking, manicured finish. If you’re feeling adventurous try out the “Lightening” color, it’s yellow! Wear it with a somewhat simple outfit, perhaps jeans and a cute ruffled top? It will make you stand out in any crowd. But proceed with caution-avoid clashing!
OPI will always rein nail polish supreme, but check out this AMAZING price, marked down from $8 to $4.25! OPI makes every color you could possibly imagine, is used in upscale spas, and lasts significantly longer than any other brand I have encountered. If only I had found this price before…
I will include Chanel’s Le Vernis nail polish just because I own it and am absolutely obsessed, but in general this nail polish doesn’t last as long as OPI, and is way more expensive. For those who have been on the prowl for a navy blue nail polish, consider the “Blue Satin” color to be a beautiful, yet overpriced option ($23 AHHHHH!). If you are a bit apprehensive about wearing black nail polish to a formal event, and don’t want to highlight your nail color, then navy blue is the perfect solution! Chanel also came out with a new summer line called Robertson Exclusive which has fun, bright colors.
Try navy blue with some hot new SaleSpot bargains:

The challenge: update your entire summer wardrobe, all for under $250. The stylist for the job: our Trendsetter Ilana Greenberg, personal style consultant and Haute & Chic blogger. Like what you see? Contact Ilana to set up a personal style consultation and translate runway fashions into your own personal look no matter your budget.
So you’ve got $250 to build your summer wardrobe? Easy enough!
If you only need a few items to fill out an already well-stocked closet, I would recommend purchasing 2-3 key pieces that have more staying power: a high-end pair of jeans, a timeless clutch, or a designer dress or bathingsuit.
If you are trying to build an entire wardrobe, given a modest budget of $250, you can get the most bang for your buck if you hit stores like Zara and Forever 21, which tend to have trendier items.
Today’s budget-conscious fashionista has a plethora of options for staying chic and cheap. And there is no need to break the bank for trendy, seasonal pieces. Summer is hot and humid, and pieces that you will wear to death – shorts, tank tops, sundresses, sandals – are not generally going to last for lifetimes. Like the trends they reflect, they are not meant to endure forever.
All of the above are Forever 21, a staple for basics that you can wash & wear and stock up on in a handful of colors to really stretch your shopping dollars.
I have chosen a wardrobe comprised of pieces that will keep you looking and feeling cool, relaxed, and stylish through Labor Day. Mix and match for added effect, as many of these pieces will take you effortlessly from day to night with the right makeup and accessories.

I’ve found that these Dolce Vita “Aries” sandals are as divisive as they are popular. Some (like myself) think they’re Grecian-hot, others (like Tamra) think they’re just weird bandals. Either way, they’re on sale at a very attractive price — at 40 percent off, they’re only $73.90.
Hi, my name is Nicole, and I’m very excited to be interning at Shop It To Me this summer! While attempting to move out of my dorm room, study for finals, and coordinate summer storage, I had a sudden epiphany – organization is important! Now I did manage to bring all of my favorite clothes to college, however, I certainly could have done a better job maximizing my space. So, after my freshman year of college I have a couple of tips that I think will be helpful for all the people out there who want to organize their closets at a minimal cost.
1. There is lots of space under your bed! Now this really only applies for those of us who have the luxury of lofting our beds, but The Container Store offers multi colored drawersthat are stackable, deep enough to store quite a lot of clothes, and only cost $16.99!
2. A shoe rack is not optional. When you are trying to save space and reduce clutter, it really doesn’t matter how many pairs of shoes you have, there is an option that can accomodate your specific shoe collection! If you have a lot of shoes, pay special attention to the shoe racks that hang over doors, they are usually the most space efficient. If you’ve managed to keep your shoe collection below ten, then a shoe rack that hangs directly in your closet is preferable.
3. Jewelry containers are fun and useful. When organizing your jewelry, always remember that more compartments generally results in better organization. Jewelry containers can get pricey, but if you have a lot of jewelry and are tired of untangling ten necklaces every time you want to put one on, I highly reccomend these plastic compartments, they’re only $5.95 plus they’re portable!
I just saw these adorable BCBG sandals in this month’s issue of Harper’s Bazaar, and they’ve already shown up in my Salemail.
Toe-ring sandals are everywhere this spring, and I’m loving the look. They’re very trendy right now, but they also feel familiar to me, probably because they remind me of Indian kolhapurri chappals my parents used to wear around the house. Here are some toe-ring sandal styles I have my eye on:
The studded versions are great for every day, the ethnic-inspired sandals look a little funky, and the jeweled pairs are probably the most versatile, since they could be worn casual or dressy. They’re all a great way to keep the sandal simple and expose the toes.
