Nailed It: Fall 2010 Nail Trends

Fall Fashion isn’t only about the clothes, shoes, and handbags you wear – we’ve got to think about beauty trends too! Ashley from Le Rouge Stylo is here to share a few hot nail colors to look out for this season. Be sure to check out her blog about the pursuit of a fashionable life!

That warm, summer breeze is growing cooler, and the bright green leaves are starting to turn orange, yellow and red. Fall has arrived!

While you’re swapping your sundresses for sweaters, put away the punchy pink and coral nail shades of summer and reach for these hot autumn polishes:

Black, Gray and Greige

Black and gray tips have been a nail style standard for several seasons now, and don’t expect that to change this fall. The newest player at the table is greige, which is a combo of gray and beige. It’s minimalist chic and will look amazing paired with your cozy fall clothes. There are a wide variety of greiges to choose from– for more of a putty color, there’s OPI**’s Over the Taupe**. And if you’re looking to hit the slate side of things, swipe on Kelly by Zoya.

Metallic and Glitter

One of the biggest trends for polish this fall is adding a little sparkle. Whether a subtle shimmer or flecked with glitter, these polishes dress up a manicure. My favorites are the super fun silver-hued Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous by OPI and the deep royal purple of China Glaze’s First Class Ticket. Or check out the MAC** F/W 2010** to get your sparkle fix!

Military

The military trend is smoking for fall, from structured jackets to lace-up boots. This trend continues with military-esque polish shades. Salute your sergeant with colors from the olive green of **Essie’s Sew Psyched **to the deep blue of Russian Navy by OPI.

Classic Autumn

Now is the perfect time to bring out the shades of the season– think deep browns (like Essie’s Little Brown Dress), fiery cherry reds (like Zoya’s Carrie Ann), and cranberry reds (like Essie’s Limited Addiction).
