What’s Premium Return Protection?

Let’s face it. Not even the savviest shopper is safe from the inevitable fashion purchase regret. (Liquid latex harem pants, anyone?) And since we all make mistakes, it’s good to have a back-up plan. That’s why Premium Return Protection from American Express is a stylish shopper’s must-have. It allows online or in-store shoppers – no matter what credit, debit or charge card is used – to shop with confidence knowing that American Express has your back; even if you’ve missed a store’s return policy deadline, you can still get your refund from American Express for up to six months.

My biggest purchase regret was buying clothing from a store where everything was $15. I was so excited that everything was so cheap that I went crazy and bought so much stuff before realizing that everything was cheap because it LOOKED cheap and tacky. Unfortunately there was a no return policy :( I made a nice large donation to Goodwill.

My biggest regret was buying a GE stove that had electric starters on this gas stove. it made so much noise with the clicking and would not work to start the top of the burners.
it got sent back.

Somehow it doesn’t fit very well in the bossom area lol.

I regret everything I’ve ever bought without shopping with Whitney.

When I was about twelve, I bought a pink tank top with pink glitter flames on coming up from the bottom. As if that wasn’t bad enough, it also tied up with pink suede laces on each side.

My biggest purchase regret would be this jacket I bought. It was a black short pleather jacket. It was only $50. I was trying to be cheap and not spend an extra $50 for a real leather jacket for the spring. So I wore the cheap one a few times and notices that the sleeve was ripped. Never will I be cheap again! I ended up buying the real leather jacket and throwing the fake one away.

Biggest purchase regret would have to be my ex-girlfriends engagement ring! =)

My biggest purchase regret is paying for a lousy haircut.

My biggest purchase regret is the the 50 inch TV I bought at Walmart as it was a floor model with a deal of $469. Only problem is it was used so much on the floor that now the color is going out already after only having it for a few months.

One of my biggest shopping regrets is when I purchased a winter coat. There was another coat that looked better on me, and fit me much better, but I didn’t choose it. They both were on sale, but I think I made my choice based on the price of the coat. I never really like the one I bought, and have always regreted not picking the other, but You live and learn!

Buying things on sale and never wearing them.

My biggest purchase regret is a pair of uggs lol. As comfy as they are, they are not worth it in south florida winter haha, oh well at least they come in handy when I was in nyc that Christmas :)

My biggest regret would have to be buying a “New” blackberry on Ebay…after 3 month it malfunctioned…when i took it a repair facility they said it was “REFURBISHED” and it was irreparable …seller then removed himself and I got left with a USELESS-BERRY…

16 Denise { 03.26.11 at 1:42 pm }

My biggest regret would be buying a high heel Tall winter boot ..It looked sooo nice when i tried them on..I paid full price and unfortunately have never worn them because I REALLY only wear flat warm boots in the winter … #should have known better …@carnivalfanatic

My biggest purchase regret is not something I actually purchased but something I SHOULD have purchased, a warranty that I didn’t buy for a camera…broke the day after the warranty would have kicked in….Lesson learned…I always buy the warranty now!

18 MIKE Groesbeck { 03.26.11 at 2:37 pm }

My biggest regret is a leather jacket I paid too much for. It didn’t fit right from the get go.

19 Kim { 03.26.11 at 2:44 pm }

Don’t even get me going about the 80’s…stirrup pants,shoulder pads….! The one worst purchase that came to mind was when I thought leather biker jackets were great looking(on some people),so I spent about $300 on a black biker jacket w/all the metal studs&clips,etc…every time I wore it I felt like a fool-needless to say-15 yrs later I have no idea where it disappeared to&I hope I never find out! Ugh!

My biggest purchase regret was when I bought my computer.
I should of researched it better and gotten a much better deal.

21 Ashley { 03.26.11 at 3:54 pm }

My biggest regret was buying the car I have now. I bought it from my brother and now it’s causing me so many problems! It has 5 tvs and neon lights underneath so I bought it for the bling and ended up with a Piece of crap!

22 Holly { 03.26.11 at 4:14 pm }

My biggest purchase regret was Kid Cudi’s newest album. I really liked the song Erase Me and I thought the rest of the album would have that funky, grungy, hendrix vibe but nope. I may as well of just purchased the single from iTunes because the rest of the album did not come even close to my expectations.

My biggest purchase regret took place during a summer day spent at the Americana in Manhasset. I was shopping with a friend who had way more money to spend than I did, and so all bets were off. I walked into the Salvatore Ferragamo store and fell in love with a pair of pale lavender slingback heels. They were the perfect height and had the signature SF bow on the front. They looked just like the flats that my grandma passed down to my mother, and then to me, except these were new and clean and absolutely irresistible. I bought them at a whopping total of $595. I felt guilty after leaving, and immediately regretted spending that much money on a pair of shoes, but I could not bring myself to return them. When my mother saw me walk into the house with the shopping bag, she asked to see what I bought. I showed her, and when she asked me how much they were, I couldn’t lie (because I had bought them with the family credit card). My reasoning was this: “Mom, they’re SO perfect, and they’re your favorite color. I bought them because I think we could share them”. My mother made me tell my father, and he blew up in my face. He was furious, AND made me return them. The only thing I regret more than buying them is returning them. Hopefully one day I will be able to spend my own money on a pair of fabulous shoes just like the ones I saw in the Ferragamo store.

My biggest purchase regret was last summer. I bought my own jet ski. I Am terrified of back it down the ramp at the dock! I don’t operate it that well either. I end up having someone else go and I ride on the back.

27 Lisa Dion { 03.26.11 at 7:23 pm }

My biggest regret was a diamond bracelet that was $4000. I love it but it was money that I probably didn’t need to spend.

I bought a Triumph Spitfire cause it was red and shiny. All I did was pour money into it.

29 Robyn Ely { 03.27.11 at 2:41 am }

My biggest regret in buying something was a Audi 5000
back many years ago. After spending tons of money on it , the dumb car turned out to be a lemon. The transmission went out right away on it. The extended insurance I purchased did not want to put a new one in it, and wanted to have a mechanic take it apart and rebuild it. It turned out to be a stand off, and the dealer finally took care of it with a new transmission. The bad part was it sat in the driveway for months fighting over the problem with the extended warranty company and I was making car payments on it. Talk about a lemon…………

My biggest regret…and I have never told anyone until now was a lingerie set. I didn’t try it on because it was from a catalog. It was expensive to begin with and shipping made it over the top, but well, it looked GREAT on the model and while I was flipping through the catalog, my fiance, hubby now, was looking over my shoulder and said “you’d look fantastic in that”. So….I bought it, in my size, but when I got it, it was a bit snug. I was going to see if I could return it but fiance spotted it and mentioned, hinted, mentioned some more about “wow, can’t wait to see you in THAT!”. I wore it that night, begrudgingly…stepped out of the bathroom, and heard him laughing! Of course, he stifled it when I was in earshot. I could hardly move, let alone try to seductive! Then it happened! Riiiiiiiiip….and not him tearing it off, either.
I honestly felt like a Barney the Dinosaur sausage…yes, it was purple. NOW, we laugh about it. Then I wanted to melt into a small purple puddle. Yeah, what WAS I thinking?!

My biggest purchase regret was spending $975 on a Gucci hobo bag in white. The bag is great, but I don’t carry white bags that often! I shoulda spent that money to buy a bag I’d carry more often.

I buy the oddest things- my biggest regret, is the secondary entertainment center I got for hubby to use in his man cave. I’m not sure why I got it- it’s too big to move & we use the area for storage now (which I knew it would be later!)

My biggest shopping regret was buying an iphone! I fell for the hype, had to have the iphone!!! Once I got it I realized I didn’t like it as much as I expected I would…it was okay but not worth the $$$.

My biggest purchase regret is our washer & dryer. We’ve had too many issues/repairs. Wish we would have went with another brand. Knock on wood though that they’ve been fine for a while now. ;)

36 Lydia { 03.27.11 at 12:15 pm }

My biggest purchase regret was 2 suits and a linen blazer for my guy. Soon after, he became a long-distance runner and lost a bunch of weight before he could ever wear the expensive clothes I bought him!

My biggest shopping regret was a divine short LANVIN Rain Jacket w/a ruffled collar. I want a LANVIN so bad, but this was really not the best piece to buy. I just got caught up in the frenzy of the Barney’s sale and got ahead of everyone else to get it. So. I got it …for $500.00 reduced from…2k. It was outrageous. I got it home, and never worn it. I still wore my good London Fog raincoat everywhere as it was full length and more practical. So I sold that Lanvin on eBay to another. I was glad I did it was such a foolish purchase.

Although I love him dearly, my biggest regret purchase is a black dog with a white couch!

40 Donna B. { 03.27.11 at 7:44 pm }

My biggest purchase regret is the first car I ever bought for my son. I bought it from a friend (who’s also a mechanic) so I thought I was getting a good deal, but it was a deathtrap, and money pit. Worst purchase I EVER made. EVER.

41 Shawna Rae Dunn { 03.27.11 at 7:46 pm }

my biggest shopping regret was purchasing a really cute pair of yellow heals for a cruise, almost 2 years ago, and still have yet to wear them!

42 Suzi { 03.27.11 at 7:49 pm }

My biggest purchase regret was letting my cousin talk me into buying this HP laptop computer instead of the Mac Air that I wanted.. I havent even had it a year & im ready to get rid of it. #wasteofmoney

43 Telena { 03.28.11 at 4:29 am }

My biggest purchase regret was buying a pair of citizen jeans in 2005. Not that I regret buying the jeans, but the store was going to close in 30 minutes, and I just had to have them. I also met my first boyfriend while buying the jeans as he was a fellow shopper and we struck up a friendly conversation. He was a total jerk so I wish I had never bought those jeans! Or had at least came back another day : )

My biggest purchase regret was our house. Bought it at the height of the housing bubble. Ouch!

I biggest purchase regret was a car at an auction. It had so much problems!!

47 Julie Flores { 03.28.11 at 10:51 am }

My biggest purchase regret is a cardigan I bought online on a whim. It was over $70 (which is a lot to me for a cardigan) and while it is pretty, the quality is awful and it had a hole in it. No refunds. OUCH. My twitter name is @team_flores

48 Sara A. { 03.28.11 at 11:01 am }

My biggest purchase regret is this gorgeous nicole miller gold lace dress i bought a size too big. i was buying online, and not sure how the couture line was sized, so i sized up. i found out after the fact that it can’t be altered because of the lace pattern, and it’s way too big. not only did i waste the $$, i can’t wear the gorgeous dress! ugh! lol

49 Nicole { 03.28.11 at 11:03 am }

My biggest regret is a pair of pointy toed black heels that weren’t comfortable from the start. You always think you can “break ’em in,” but if they don’t fit at the store, they simply won’t ever get better!

50 katie roberts { 03.28.11 at 11:54 am }

My first pair of Louboutins. They look beautiful in my closet but I bought them a size too small and they were not returnable. I was excited to be in Manhattan for the first time and just “had” to have them. I think I was SO excited that I didn’t realize how much those suckers HURT to wear when they are farrrr too small. @katiewroberts
