Buying a PC instead of a Mac!

2 Heather Pina { 03.28.11 at 11:58 am }

My biggest purchase reget was buying work clothes online I never purchased clothes online before. I figured it can’t be that hard, everyone does it. So, I ordered 5 pairs of pants, a business skirt set.
I was online tracking the packages. I was so excited because I ordered online and I was getting new clothes. The last time I brought clothe for myself it was 2001. The packages arrived in the late afternoon. I ran up the stairs and ripe open the boxes. I am smiling showing my husband and kids mommy’s new clothes. My husband told to try them on. I tried the first pair of pants on and they were too big. I tried to put a belt on but there weren’t any belt loops. I didn’t see that in the description. The next three pair of pants were the same..TOO BIG!! Only one pair fit perfect. The suit was ok. I checked the pants size 18w. So, when I ordered I thought 18w meant 18 women’s. So, I was totally wrong. It meant 18 wide. AAAAgggghhhh! I couldn’t return them because I started my new job in morning. So, learned how to staple or use pins to hold my pants up. I will never order clothes online again..

My biggest purchase regret is the money I spent on a dell Streak

4 Danyell { 03.28.11 at 12:32 pm }

Mine was recently, I purchased a pair of leggings that are sequined all over..yeah, that doesn’t work with curves. I look like a fish with scales…

My biggest purchase regret was on my eighteenth birthday last year. I had been wanting the black and gold Tory Butch logo clutch for as long as I could remember so my mom took me to saks and told me to pick whichever TB I wanted. She encouraged me to get a beautiful wine colored large leather handbag but I was stubborn and opted for the logo clutch. I was obsessed until that weekend when I attempted to go out with it and could barely fit my cell phone and camera in it. Need less to say, I learned my lesson: if you’re going to drop big bucks on anything-designer or not- make sure it’s a practical purchase that will be well worth the money. (still love TB with all my <3)

My biggest purchase, hmmmmm… OK when I received my refund from the friendly IRS I decided that I was in desperate need of a new Coach handbag. Problem was I ended up in need of 6 new Coach handbags, 2 Coach wallets, and 1 pair of Coach wedge shoes. So what should have been a $400 purchase ended up being WAY more. What bills? Fashion comes first, right?

My biggest regret is buying a Chevy Malibu from Carmax (a large chain that’s supposedly reputable). I bought it with only 50,000 miles on it and the engine completely broke 6 months later! I had to buy a new one and the car has needed endless repairs. It wouldn’t be so bad if I had gotten a cheap old car but I didn’t and I’m still paying on it. I have years left on the loan in addition to ongoing costly repairs. This isn’t cheap when you’re a student either!

8 jane { 03.28.11 at 3:08 pm }

going to cancun for spring break when i had just enough to cover the trip. i was broke for months after i came back. i was a college student at the time. never doing that again.

9 Kristyn KIlcullen { 03.28.11 at 4:16 pm }

My biggest purchase regret was buying My baby can read videos. I absolutely love the set and so does my daughter but it ended up costing 375.00 which I was unaware of! I have seen it so much cheaper in retail stores.

10 P. Richards { 03.28.11 at 4:26 pm }

My biggest shopping regret was buying a pinball machine for the guy’s…oh the noise! @gigstarr

11 Shelley { 03.28.11 at 4:28 pm }

My biggest purchase regret was the doughnut holes I ate for an afternoon snack! Small purchase…huge regret!

12 Stephanie { 03.28.11 at 4:32 pm }

I regret buying waaaay too tight jeans without trying them on first… and ripped them the second I did the jean-pull-up-jump.

13 Dana { 03.28.11 at 6:00 pm }

My biggest purchase regret has to be a DVD set claiming it would get me a “beach booty fast”- if only I could have tolerated the annoyingly perky fitness instructor for more than 5 minutes! $85 bucks down the drain when all I really needed was my trusty treadmill to get a bikini bod for the summer!

14 Samantha { 03.28.11 at 6:06 pm }

My biggest purchase regret was the sheath wedding gown I thought “was the one.” I went back a few weeks later for my first fitting (after getting a new contact lens Rx) and it looked TERRIBLE! I have no idea what I was thinking. It was not flattering on me at all! I balled and balled and balled, but the store owner wouldn’t let me return or exchange it, so I ended up bringing it home with the hopes of selling it online. Unfortunately, it still hangs in my closet and I am STILL paying the credit cards bills!

15 Jess p m { 03.28.11 at 6:38 pm }

I bought some Christian Louboutin boots on eBay and they turned out to be FAKE!! had I linked my Amex to my patiala count, I would’ve gotten my $ back. :(

16 abbi { 03.28.11 at 11:36 pm }

i actually regret a lot of things I buy. I buy way to much on impulse. I have a treadmill that sits in the corner folded up. It’s huge and in the way yet I dont want to sell it because i know i wont get what i paid for it

17 Teddie { 03.29.11 at 7:41 am }

I bought a dehydrator because I wanted to make my own dried fruits and vegetables. The door doesn’t close properly so only half of the items I tried to dehydrate actually dehydrated! I haven’t used it since I first bought it. It’s big and clunky and now an expensive dust gathering placeholder in my kitchen.

18 SunRae { 03.29.11 at 9:00 am }

Biggest regret purchase was my car – new I should not have bought that brand

19 Laura { 03.29.11 at 11:31 am }

Picture it: Vinyl lime green mini skirt, striped lime green and black turtleneck, vinyl lime green vest, tights that matched the turtleneck and a vinyl lime green headband. Oh my goodness was it a lime green and vinyl nightmare! I was nicknamed “The Greenbean” for a year!!

Oh did I mention I was in 4th grade? :)

20 Amy { 03.29.11 at 12:11 pm }

My biggest purchase regret was my prom dress. I wanted an emerald green cocktail dress, and ended up with a light pink one because I let my mom’s opinion trump what I really wanted (and the green would have brought out my eyes!) To top it off, it rained on my prom (yes, my mom did ding ‘It’s Raining on Prom Night’, mulitple times) so all the beautiful pleats in the silk chiffon came out, which had really been the only redeeming quality of the dress.

21 Erika Larson { 03.29.11 at 12:45 pm }

My biggest purchase regret is from when I was working in a retail clothing store in my hometown. We had gotten in a bunch of sizes of this bright blue bubble-type dress that my boss thought was a great addition to our inventory. The dress was anything but flattering and everyone that tried it on looked like they were wearing a tent. When the dress wasn’t selling, my boss convinced me to try it on one day at work and tried to convince me that it looked great. I really couldn’t say no since it was my boss, so I bought it hoping that maybe it would end up being a good purchase. Needless to say, I haven’t worn it once and it’s been hanging untouched in my closet for years! I hope at least it made my boss happy!

22 Min { 03.29.11 at 1:50 pm }

My first fur was ugly and too expensive.

23 Diane Bassette { 03.29.11 at 2:24 pm }

my biggest purchase regret was a swimming pool…summers are too short …kind of a waste of money! :(

24 Lisa Grassetti { 03.29.11 at 2:27 pm }

I purchased a phone for $275 off Ebay brand new I regret, It broke on me in 3 months recently with no warranty. I wish I bought off a phone site or at least purchased some kind of money back policy. :(

25 Diane Bassette { 03.29.11 at 2:28 pm }

A swimming pool!

26 Rick { 03.29.11 at 3:30 pm }

My biggest regret was making a $5,000+ purchase and not using my AMEX card. I had lost some of my goods in a taxi in NYC and was never able to retrieve it. Had 9 bags and some of my goods had fell on the taxi’s inside. In a rush in the Big Apple city (like always) and with so many bags, when I got home I noticed some goods were missing. I went back to bloomingdales they checked the camera’s and nothing was found. I knew I had dropped them in the taxi. If I had used my AMEX card I would have been covered, I regret it so much!

27 Shad Wanless { 03.29.11 at 3:45 pm }

This one is easy, it was gold-plated shoes. No idea why I did this, but they were $2,000! I was young and very very very dumb. There you have it, gold shoes… Later sold them on ebay for $50

Purchase I regret – purple leg warmers

29 amy pugmire { 03.29.11 at 8:08 pm }

biggest purchase regret. my hubby up and sold my civic when i was in utah for a bmw trying to surprise me. and we have had nothing but problems with it and it costs a fortune to fix. :(

my biggest shopping regret were these stupidly expensive shoes that were GORGEOUS!!! Oh, i loved them so much. Unfortunately I lasted less than 5 minutes wearing them. They were sooooo painful!! So I ended up carrying around my beautiful shoes all night. Everyone commented on how amazing the shoes were. It’s just too bad that i couldn’t wear them!

31 Brittney H. { 03.30.11 at 7:59 pm }

I bought these fabulous Audrey Hepburn-esque slacks with zipper details on the ankle. Only prob was they didn’t fit very well, but I swore I would shed a couple pounds just to wear them. Now I just wait for the day I can dress them up. Torture!

32 teia { 03.30.11 at 8:35 pm }

Biggest purchase regret is a hidous blazor I ordered online, and never sent back. It just looked way different online.

33 Sarah { 03.31.11 at 2:30 pm }

My biggest shopping regret was definitely electric blue suede boots. Yeah I know, but I thought they were cute at the time. I saw them on miley cyrus and was actually obsessed. I saved up hundreds of dollars to get them and I finally did. it took a while to find a store that sold them in the crazy color I wanted but I finally got them. I wore them once (thinking I looked like miley…) And I never wore them again, they’re still in the box. They were stylish for probably 30 seconds. And the boy I liked still calls me blueberry boots….

34 Maddie { 03.31.11 at 2:36 pm }

My biggest regret purchase was a very expensive watch! Very unnecessary when there are beautiful watches for a much better price.

35 anita b. { 03.31.11 at 6:20 pm }

my biggest regret is buying a fake Kate Spade bag. Everyone complimented me on it and I just broke and told them straight up it was fake. I felt so guilty wearing a fake that i vowed to never buy a phony again. I could have pulled it off but I just couldn’t live with my conscience lying to everyone.

My biggest purchase regret is a winter white coat I purchased two years ago. It shows the slightest amount of dirt, so I rarely wear it. What was I thinking?

37 Jenna { 04.01.11 at 9:49 am }

I bought a fake Louis Vuitton handbag on ebay several years ago b/c I liked the one Jessica Simpson had. It looked so big and ridiculous and shouldn’t have cost as much as it did!

38 Carly Tencza { 04.01.11 at 11:37 am }

Yikes! My biggest product regret is a shape less dress piece. Not long enough to wear as a tunic but not short enough to be a shirt. It’s horrible!

39 AMD { 04.01.11 at 12:07 pm }

My biggest purchase regret ended up being one of my best buys ever. I bought a red Givenchy trench coat for an excellent price online, and when I got it was not exactly what I was expecting. Even though it was a good deal, it still cost me a lot of money, and of course, was unreturnable. I was so upset with myself, but just sucked it up. But now, years later, it is my go-to spring and fall coat. It is flattering with everything and always makes me pop. I get lots and lots and lots of compliments on it.

Of course, this is the EXCEPTION to the many many stupid purchases (mostly online) that I’ve made…

40 Beryl { 04.01.11 at 2:24 pm }

My biggest regret purchase regret is half os my closet..everytime i go to the mall with my friends, they always try on the smallest size of clothes there. I tend to buy clothes that are too small for me with the thought in my head that ill loose some pounds soon and ill be able to wear them in no time. this has taught me to b proud of my body and my curves and to never buy anything without trying it on :D

41 Allie Hartmann { 04.01.11 at 2:25 pm }

My biggest shopping regret is.. I don’t have one! Besides for those spur of the moment shopping sprees. But who really regrets that? I love bargain shopping so it never hurts my wallet.

42 Tiffany { 04.01.11 at 2:25 pm }

My biggest purchase regret was my old car back in 2004… I thought I was getting a great deal on it, and it broke down 2 weeks later. The gaskets had gone and it was going to cost me $3000 versus the $2000 I had spent on the stupid thing. Needless to say, that thing wasn’t worth the money to fix and was sitting in my driveway for 2 years while I took public transportation and saved for my next car.

43 Cindy { 04.01.11 at 2:26 pm }

Bubble Gum stretch jeans back in JHS. It looked as ugly as it sounds. Bad 80’s flashback!!!!

44 Alexandra Hunt { 04.01.11 at 2:27 pm }

When I think about the worst purchase I’ve made, the first thing that comes to mind is… wait for it…. SMOOTH AWAY! Yes, I said it, Smooth Away. I was up late one night working on my blog, and gave in to the phony infomercial. It does not work AT ALL… at least not for me!

45 neda { 04.01.11 at 2:30 pm }

it was an auction and i wanted an amanda doll. it pees, eats, sing… and i was only 8 years old and i wanted it so bad. but i didn’t now the what money was. or how much one dollar was… so i got up to 200 dollars! im so regretting it… still having the doll! do u wanna buy?

46 Tina { 04.01.11 at 2:35 pm }

My biggest purchase regret was a Damier Azur Louis Vuitton speedy 30. I chose it as my graduation present and now I wish I had waited to get something more timeless and simple.

47 Brittney { 04.01.11 at 2:42 pm }

My biggest regret was the PC I bought right before college. If I could travel back in time, I would have gone with my Mac from the beginning. If I had only known then what I know now….

48 Amy H. { 04.01.11 at 2:42 pm }

My biggest purchase regret is a pair of denim shorts that are about 2 sizes too big for me. I have a problem with looking at the size of pants/jeans/shorts and buying them because that is “my size.” I’ve since learned to try on different sizes (whether bigger or smaller than what I think “my size” is) and get the pair that fit the best!

49 Jordab { 04.01.11 at 3:21 pm }

My biggest shopping regret was not getting a dress for a special occasion the moment I laid eyes on it. Of course, it was gone when I decided to return to buy it. =\

50 Zippy Sandler { 04.01.11 at 3:49 pm }

I regret buying a beautiful Halston outfit in a consignment shop. It was too small and I bought it with the intention of starving myself to fit into it. It hung in my closet like a museum piece for years before I finally got rid of it.
