The Best Things To Buy In July

July temps are heating up and so are the summer sales.  Lucky for us, the data scientists at Shop It To Me have worked their mathematical magic to determine the best things are to buy this month. Here’s the inside scoop on the top three things you’ll want to snap up right now.

It may not be “sweater weather”—but if you’re like me, you want a sweet cardi with you all the time when going from bubbling temps outside to chillier in-door A/C climes.  July is the best month to buy sweaters on sale, so expect markdowns of 54% off vs. the average of 49%.

If you avoided buying a new coat last winter or spring—July is also a great month for markdowns on outerwear.  Having the right topper can really make the look—so lookout for discounts of 53% off vs. the average of 51%.

Last, keep your eyes peeled for Jewelry discounts—chunky menswear inspired watches, statement necklaces, and cocktail rings are all easily transitional into fall. At 48% off vs. the usual 46%, these standout accessories can take your look from drab to fab!

Wondering about the pieces I’ll be purchasing?  Here are a few of my faves to go along with our data team’s insights.  If this makes me officially geek-chic, I think I love my new label.

Stella McCartney Intarsia Snake-Print Wrap Cardigan

Animal print is definitely something every fashion forward gal needs in her closet.  I can’t wait to take a walk on the wild side in this wool/alpaca printed cardigan.  It will be perfect as the temperature, and the leaves, start to fall.

Opening Ceremony X Pendelton Cropped Knit Poncho

This playfully patterned poncho (say that three times fast) will add a burst of color to my daily wardrobe.  I love to mix materials and can’t wait to wear this knit with leather bottoms or a flirty lace mini.

Gryphon Sequin Cardigan

You are sure to shine in sequins on silk.  For a glamorous take on grunge I’m sporting this piece with my worn in boyfriend jeans.  For a more refined look I’ll be wearing it over a cream sheath a la ladies who lunch.

Halston Heritage Pink Trench

Playing up the neon trend seen all over the Spring and Fall runways, I can’t wait to swap out my usual trench for something a bit more daring.

Proenza Schouler Tweed Jacket

A tweed jacket is classic by association, but the dominant chartreuse hue is what really caught my eye.  I plan to offset this electric outerwear with a neutral base come fall.

Helmut Lang Assymetrical Denim Jacket

Despite the limitless outwear options available, I will always divert to a great denim jacket.  The asymmetrical shape of this piece gives the classic jean material a little urban renewal.

Proenza Schouler Necklace

A little tribal/a little techno, this serious show-stopper crafted of multi-color rope and stone charms will enhance any basic sheath in my closet.

Michael Kors Two Tone Mens Watch

I love a good menswear inspired watch and couldn’t help but fall for one with an alternative take on the traditional.  The rose gold coloring and crystal insets add a subtle hint of femininity.

Yves Saint Laurent Arty Too Ring:

A cluster of rhinestones, metal pieces and faux pearls, this stunner will be the perfect accent to my LBD at cocktail parties time and time again.
