Time-saving tricks....from some busy-body bloggers

At Shop It To Me, we’re all about saving your time by finding sales only your sizes and only in brands that you love.  This weekend we’re losing an hour of time when the clocks spring forward for Daylight Savings. We connected with our busy blogger trendsetters to ask them their time-saving tricks. From a swamped mom to a crammed student to a hustlin’ professional, here’s their  tips on how to stay sane and stylish with less time:

**Meet Rach of The Pink Peonies, a student in her 3rd semester of Graphic Design, who manages to look classy on her way to class. **

Rach, inspired by Coco ChanelRach, inspired by Coco Chanel1. What’s the most efficient piece in your wardrobe that you can throw on with almost anything? I have a couple of pieces in my closet that are so versatile but my J. Crew Wedges are my fav!

****2. How do you make room for “me” time with such a busy schedule?I forgot there was such a thing as “me” time because I move at about 100 miles an hour all day, everyday but when I do I have time, I would consider my “me” time as reading up on my favorite blogs, browsing through fashion magazines, choosing out new looks and shopping of course!

3. Will you be doing a spring cleaning on your closet? Any tips? I hadn’t thought about it but now that you mention it, yes I’m going to! My tip: organize your closet by style type first, {sweaters, blouses, blazers etc.} then by color.

Meet Julia from Gal Meets Glam, a very stylish student at the University of the Pacific in California. She’s looking fabulous while studying Business with a concentration in Marketing and Entrepreneurship.

  1. **What’s the most efficient piece in your wardrobe that you can throw on with almost anything? **Definitely a comfy pair of black skinny jeans. I wear them to run errands with flats, put on pumps and a blouse for work, sandals and t-shirt for class, or strappy heels and a cute top for a night out. You can’t go wrong with them! The great thing about the color back is that you can’t really tell they are jeans unless you feel the fabric, so they are work appropriate!2. **How do you make room for “me” time with such a busy schedule? **This may sound silly, but my “me” time is getting ready in the morning. I get a lot of girls asking me how I get the motivation to get ready every morning (especially while in college) and my answer is that it makes me feel good. Nothing is better than starting your day feeling confident and wearing something that you feel great in.

  2. **Will you be doing a spring cleaning on your closet? Any tips? **Oh yes! I get overwhelmed by the feeling of having too much “stuff”. I love taking the time to clean everything out and get organized. I try to do it every new season and I always feel refreshed afterward. My rule of thumb is: if you have not worn it in the past year, then it goes. Sometimes it’s really hard to get rid of things (especially if you paid good money for them), but chances are if you have not worn it within a year, then you probably won’t wear it again.

**Meet Rubina of Homes and Heels, a lover of all things design- art, interior design, fashion- and she’s making it big in an advertising agency in Chicago. Meanwhile, she continues to share amazing finds affordable on a shoestring budget. **Rubina and her beautiful vestRubina and her beautiful vest

1.** What’s the most efficient piece in your wardrobe that you can throw on with almost anything? **I have a black and gray vest with an exaggerated collar that I wear with absolutely everything. I love how it can be paired with a dress to give it a little edge or with a cozy sweater for an extra layer in winter. I’ve actually styled it so many different ways on my blog that my readers are probably tired of seeing it!2. How do you make room for “me” time with such a busy schedule? Between blogging and working in advertising there are definitely times where I feel like I have to put relaxation on a back burner but I’ve realized that if I don’t make some time for myself, I don’t do as well at either. So, I’ve made a rule that I have to try and sneak in at least a half hour of reading time right before bed…I have to admit it doesn’t always happen but one step at a time right?

  1. **Will you be doing a spring cleaning on your closet? Any tips?  **Yes, definitely! I think the key is to make sure that you have timeless staples – a classic white shirt, a pair of dark jeans, a structured blazer – and then a few more trendy pieces that are sprinkled in. So, as it gets warmer, I’ll store my sweaters and heavier clothing and add a few pieces of bright color to keep my wardrobe fresh.

**Meet April of Knocked Up Fabulous– she’s a mommy and primary school teacher AND looks Fashion-tastic in every post: ****

****1. What’s the most efficient piece in your wardrobe that you can throw on with almost anything?**I love tossing on my green army jacket (from Loft) whenever I’m in need of an additional layer. It looks great with prints, bright color, or pants and dresses…you name it! And I love how it can easily transition from work to “play”.**How about from your little girl’s closet?**My daughter has been loving her cowgirl boots (don’t you dare call them cowboy…) for whenever she needs to throw on a pair of shoes to do some running around with me. They look so cute with her ultra girlies dresses or with leggings and a t-shirt.**2. How do you make room for “me” time with such a busy schedule?**********Sadly enough I sometimes sacrifice sleep for “me” time. On weekends I usually wake up before the kids just so I can catch up with things on the computer. My husband and I also take turns hanging with the little ones in the evening so that we can each have a break.**3. Will you be doing a Spring cleaning on your closet? Any tips?Yes I will be doing Spring cleaning…a major one! The closets and drawers are becoming overstocked. I’m going to be going through everything…sorting it into piles: keep, toss, diy, or donate. After it’s all sorted, I need to organize it. Big time! It’s going to be a painful experience (I’m a clothes hoarder…shh!), but it is something that really needs to be done…especially with my thrifting problem.**Thank you to Julia, Rach, Rubina and April for contributing your words of wisdom! Happy Daylight Savings!
