Botkier, known for luxurious handbags, now offer shoes that are also just grand!  The Botkier line, created by once-fashion photographer, Monica Botkier, is known for the difficult mix of stylish & functional.  As a photographer, Monica, a New York City native, did many photoshoots for fashion magazines,  and grew her knowledge of handbags, parlaying her love into her own line.  The line has now extended beyond handbags into other accessories and shoes!

Today’s Deal of the Day is this lovely pair of Botkier flat sandals, in teal snake. Originally close to two hundred dollars, they are now on sale for $89.99, with free shipping & free returns!

Talk about the perfect summer sweater! This design is great to style over a fun mini-dress… an adorable light layer that will keep you looking and feeling cool as can be. And, on top of that, it’s half off! Pretty tough to beat, in our opinion…

New Employees at Shop It To Me!

Here at Shop It To Me we’ve been very busy in the last couple of months–we launched Shop It To Me UK, redesigned our website, and continue to bring stylish bargains to your inbox at your convenience. In order to keep up with all the excitement, our headquarters staff continues to grow (and we’re still hiring!).  We’d love to introduce our latest team additions to you:

Vivian recently moved to San Francisco from Boston and has been busy furnishing her house ever since. Her favorite places to shop in the Boston area are Tannery and Dress (readers: Vivian has great style, so definitely go check these out!) and she recently came back from her honeymoon in Indonesia! Her biggest pet peeve is when blogs fail to give you spoiler alerts. Vivian has a special message for all of our Shop It To Me users: “I’m excited to join the team as a product manager aka professional online shopper. To all the SITM fans, I welcome your feedback. Let me know how I can help make your shopping experience better.”

Rahul just joined the team as an engineering intern and in his spare time enjoys eating vegan food, playing tennis, and going for runs around San Francisco. He is proficient in Hindi and knows all the capitals of every country in the world! He’s excited to be working at Shop It To Me because “I not only get to learn technical skills from our amazing engineers, but I become more and more fashionable each day!”

Laura is an MBA student at Berkeley who enjoys running, yoga, cooking, skiing and reading. She loves to shop at J.Crew, Dish (SF boutique), Saks, Barneys, and Books Inc. Her most exotic travel destination to date is Kakamega, Kenya and she compares herself to George Clooney in Up in the Air–she hates slow people at the airport!

Neil just joined the engineering team and since his arrival has already learned much more about women’s clothing sizes than he ever could have imagined. His favorite travel destination is Paris, France, however, he is fluent in Spanish. Aside from his uncanny knowledge of computers he also has the amazing ability to wiggle both his ears and his eyebrows!

From all of us here at Shop It To Me we’d like to say welcome aboard, we’re thrilled to have such a talented group of new employees!

Burberry Launches New Interactive Ad Campaign

Burberry’s done it again… blown our minds, that is. Call us materialistic, but does this video highlighting the cast in the new Burberry ad campaign not make you squeal!? The models and the clothing are equally and astonishingly beautiful…

YouTube Preview Image

Today Burberry launched their new, interactive AW2010 ad campaign. Labeled “the ads of the future” (Grazia), you can use your mouse to scroll over the image and make the models change positions, walk around, and, well, come to life! I know I spent a few minutes totally captivated, while I would typically scan a standard image in a couple seconds and be on my way. First their Art of the Trench website, and now this! Burberry has found fun, innovative ways to utilize the digital world and help sell their product… so classic, yet so very modern!

Its like a fun little game for fashion-obsessed adults! I think it’s safe to say we’re suckers for these virtual teasers. Are the new interactive ads working on you?!

Wild Style at Royal Ascot

Royal Ascot is a key event in the UK’s social calendar. Dating back to the 18th century it is particularly well known for Ladies Day, when ladies sport the most spectacular hats.

Royal Ascot has lived up to its reputation for weird and wacky head gear this year, including a compilation of London sights (Big Ben and the London Eye), a giant ice-cream, horses head and a huge model of the Wold Cup trophy, as well as the usual feathers, fluff and dangly bits!

This year’s fashion winners were beautiful blues as seen on Amanda Holden, Jasmine Guinness, Princess Beatrice and even the Queen.

If you love a sky blue check out this RM by Roland Mouret linen blend dress – a steal at £409 reduced from £1023 or if sober navy is more you the Calvin Klein silk shift now £277 from £797.

We also loved the fact that some celebrities looked like they’d stepped off the set of My Fair Lady with their monochrome outfits; Jasmine Guinness with a fabulous Stephen Jones creation, Erin O’Connor, Kate Silverton, Holly Valance, Carol Vorderman and Louise Redknapp.

To be honest every girl needs a good little back dress as one of her wardrobe essentials. We like this McQ Alexander McQueen dress reduced to £157 from £315 or the Vivienne Westwood Anglomania black drape dress.

Deal of the Day: Trina Turk Bikini Set

Bandeau tops seem to be all rage this summer. They remind us of the glamorous 50’s when James Dean and Audrey Hepburn were style icons, yet allow for a bit of a 21st century update, and of course they’re great for tan lines! We think this Trina Turk bikini is absolutely gorgeous—the simple pattern and the flashy buckles are the perfect combination for your seemingly effortless beach look.

Trina Turk Metallic Stripe Bikini Set
Top: Was $91.00, Now $44.00
Bottom: Was $73.00, Now $35.00

Hot Indie Fashion Magazines

From indie inspired personalities, to outfits, to DIY projects, The Flip Side of Oz is in-the-know and has some great reads for you to check out that are sure to bring out the creative, inspired, individuals that we know all of our readers are! To satisfy your fix for fashion insights, editorial picks, daily outfits show Grace some love and visit her blog.

We all love to read fashion magazines.  Glossies like Vogue and Elle greet us each month packed full of couture wonderfulness.  Now I love flipping through the pages of Vogue as much as the next fashionista; however, sometimes I need options that are a little more, um, realistic.  Plus, what if I want something unique?  What if I want to know where to find the best vintage pieces?  Or want a cool, DIY project like tie-dye tights (keep reading!)?  Your best bet: Indie Fashion Magazines.  Read on for a rundown of the best of the best.

PaperMag – This upbeat magazine is more than fashion, it’s just plain fun!  All you bloggers and blog-lovers (I’m assuming, since you are reading this one) will love the recent article, (un)socializing, featuring some of the web’s best, up-and-coming personalities.

Bust Magazine -  Sorry dudes! This one, like the name, was designed specifically for the ladies.  The magazine is packed to the brim with young women doing amazing things.  In addition to fashion advice and emerging designers, the magazine also highlights fun yet achievable DIY projects such as these awesome tie-dye tights.

N.E.E.T Magazine – For all things unique and vintage, this is the magazine to read.  You can also browse the entire current edition on their website.  Found a necklace you just have to have?  Simply click your obsession du jour and a second browser window appears at the item’s website.

Viva La Moda – This quarterly magazine is all about DIY fashion and I’m not talking about that dress your grandma made for you that your Mom made you wear for your 3rd grade class photo (no, I’m not bitter).  Instead, this magazine highlights current styles and trends, but handmade by some very talented ladies and gents.  Think Etsy, in periodical form.

Dujour – This fashion mag is like the delicious frosting on your favorite cupcake.  From subtle, light pink details to romantically-styled models, everything about this magazine reads feminine.  The publication highlights up-and-coming artists and designers, showcases gorgeous photographs, and leaves you feeling completely satisfied and not at all guilty… unlike that frosting on your cupcake.
