Ashley Olsen is Wiggin’ Out in VMan Magazine

Ashley Olsen dishes about her upcoming men’s line for ‘The Row‘ while sporting a brown wig in the new issue of VMan Magazine!

I wouldn’t have thought this to be something I’d consider, but perhaps this photo spread is enough to change my mind – she is totally pulling it off! Could be a fun experiment to try if you are thinking about switching up your do…
Would you wear a wig?

Would you wear Kanye West “Shutter Sunglasses”?
After watching Kris perform a fantastic acoustic rendition of “Heartless” this week on American Idol, I was re-inspired to play Kanye West tunes on repeat. I always think of Kanye’s signature look, found in the video for “Stronger” where Kanye sports his shutter sunglasses.
Then, today, PSFK covered that there is a Kanye-bookmarklet that you can add to your screen to allow you to “view the internet the way Kanye views it”. (You can check out the bookmarklet here).

Back to style and shopping — Apparently Kanye specially requested his glassses from Alain Mikli, a French high-end glasses designer. But, in true Shop It To Me frugalista style, I found some pink lookalikes on Amazon for less than $3! Scoop yours up today!

The Best Places to Shop for Vintage Clothing
It’s Trendsetter Thursday! Now that mixing high and low brands is commonplace, the focus has shifted to mixing the old with the new. Our Trendsetter Jaynie Van Roe of Here’s Looking Like You, Kid shares an overview of some major vintage venues. Be sure to check out her blog to enter a glamorous world of vintage fashion based on classic films!
When it comes to shopping for vintage clothing and accessories, most people automatically think of vintage fashion shops. But there are other places to find vintage clothing too — and I’ve found fantastic vintage apparel and accessories at each of them!

In all cases, the inventory is unique and changes often — stock sold isn’t replenished with the next truck, but rather replaced with new finds of vintage uniqueness. So don’t dismiss a location based on even a few visits; you never know what might hit the racks and shelves even an hour after you leave! That’s just another reason why shopping for vintage fashions is so addicting.

Dressed to Grill: What to Wear to Barbecues
Baked yams, grilled chicken sandwiches and comfy fashion all make my mouth water. They also happen to go together perfectly at Memorial Day barbecues. Here are some outfit ideas to keep you cool and casual, but still pulled-together for outdoor events with friends, family and coworkers.
Bermuda shorts are a great sophisticated (and longer) alternative to regular shorts. Stay away from heels — they’ll kill your frisbee game! Go for wedges, flats or even sneakers, as long as they’re in good shape.

Tory Burch Gail tank, Reg: $150, Now: $59.96
Ella Moss Hampton wrap sweater, Reg: $108, Now: $76
BCBG bermuda short, Reg $168, Now: $69.99
Anne Klein Romilla wedges, Reg: $175, Now: $99.99
Another great way to embrace the sunny weather is to wear something bright. Neon is back, but best use it sparingly and keep the rest of your outfit neutral.

Theory Juin Stay tee, Reg: $75, Now: $44.90
Banana Republic Bridgeport clutch, Reg: $198, Now: $99.99
Sam Edelman Gisela, Reg: $89, Now: $69.99
Marc by Marc Jacobs stretch cotton skirt, Reg: $198, Now: $118.80
Food and fashion are two of life’s great pleasures. Let the barbecues begin!

Back Pockets: Use ‘Em or Lose ‘Em?
Teri Agins recently gave advice in the Wall Street Journal about removing the inners in back pockets from pants that bunch up, leaving a more clean and tailored look. It’s a common practice to have the pocket linings snipped, shortened, and the pockets sewn up. Teri strongly encourages women to never actually make use of back pockets, or you will face incessant bunching and bulging in all the wrong places.
This article led to me to think more about back pockets altogether. Nearly all Women’s pants (at least in my Salemail) have back pockets, and most women I talk to (myself included!) find the presence of pockets more flattering on their rears. But some insist that pocket-less pants do their booty good.

Where do you stand — are back pockets stylistically a must-have or a never?

Kate Moss in Tar Magazine- Fashion or Freaky?
Tired of airbrushed models and caked on make-up? Apparently Tar Magazine is…
Though I am intrigued by the theme, I think they may have crossed the fine line between fashion and freaky. You be the judge…

Is it fabulous, frightening, or just enough edge?
